When we buy an ordinary piece of casual clothing, some people look at the brand, some look at the style, some look at the texture, and some look at the price. As for anti-static clothing, the first thing we look at is the quality of the anti-static clothing. After all, it is related to the product quality on the production line and the personal safety of the staff.
The quality of anti-static work clothes depends not only on the fabric of anti-static work clothes, but also on the accessories of anti-static work clothes.
The auxiliary materials of anti-static clothing mainly include but are not limited to the following:
Zipper: Zipper is one of the common accessories in anti-static clothing. It is used to open and close certain parts of clothing, such as front placket, pockets, etc. To prevent the build-up of static electricity, these zippers are often specially designed to conduct electricity or at least not impede the flow of charge.
Buttons: Buttons may be used less frequently in anti-static clothing because they do not conduct electricity as easily as zippers. However, if necessary, special anti-static buttons are used to ensure that they do not negatively affect the anti-static properties of the garment.
Buttons: Similar to buttons, buttons are also used to secure parts of clothing, such as cuffs, hems, etc. Similarly, if it is an anti-static design, materials that can conduct electricity or do not affect the flow of charge will be used.
Velcro: Velcro (also known as Velcro) is used in anti-static clothing because of its convenient and fast bonding method. In order to maintain anti-static properties, the material of Velcro also needs to be specially treated to ensure its conductivity or non-static properties.
Conductive fibers: Sometimes, in order to enhance the conductive properties of anti-static clothing, conductive fibers are embedded as auxiliary materials in certain parts of the clothing (such as seams). These conductive fibers can effectively conduct static electricity to the ground, thereby protecting the wearer from the hazards of static electricity.
Edging tape: Edging tape is usually used for edge processing of clothing, such as cuffs, trouser legs, etc. In anti-static clothing, materials with conductive or anti-static properties will also be used for the hemming tape to ensure the anti-static performance of the overall clothing.
Sewing thread: Although the sewing thread itself may not be a directly exposed accessory material, it also has a certain impact on the performance of anti-static clothing. Therefore, when sewing anti-static clothing, anti-static treated sewing threads are used to ensure the conductive properties of the sewing parts.
Inferior anti-static clothing usually starts to have problems such as loose threads, zippers that cannot be pulled up, and Velcro chips falling off after being worn for only a few days. This not only brings inconvenience to the staff's activities, but more importantly, it causes damage and substandard wear. The anti-static performance of anti-static work clothes will be greatly reduced. In severe cases, it may even affect product quality and cause electrostatic accidents. Therefore, pay special attention when purchasing.
