In the field of flame retardant fabrics, according to their different washability properties, they can be divided into four types: disposable, semi washable, washable and permanent. These different types of flame retardant fabrics have their own characteristics and applicable scenarios in terms of fire protection.

Disposable flame retardant fabric:

Disposable flame retardant fabrics are typically used for onetime or shortterm use situations. They can provide temporary fire protection in the event of a fire, but their fire protection effect will be significantly reduced after washing with water. This kind of fabric is suitable for occasions that require shortterm fire protection, such as emergency evacuation suits, emergency firefighting equipment covers, etc.

Semiwashable flame retardant fabric:

Semiwashable flame retardant fabrics are washable to a certain extent, but cannot withstand multiple washes. Its fireproofing effect will be affected to a certain extent by the number of washes. This kind of fabric is suitable for occasions that require mediumterm fire protection, such as work clothes for a certain period of time, temporary fire protection equipment covers, etc.

Washable flame retardant fabric:

Washable flame retardant fabrics have good wash resistance and can withstand multiple washes without affecting the fire retardant effect. It can usually be cleaned more than 50 times. This kind of fabric is suitable for occasions that require longterm fire protection and require frequent cleaning, such as fireresistant work clothes, fireresistant bedding, etc.

Permanently flame retardant fabric:

Permanently flameretardant fabric means that its fireretardant effect will not be affected by the number of washes, and its fireretardant performance will remain stable throughout its service life. This kind of fabric usually has flame retardants added during the manufacturing process of the fiber to make it integrated with the fiber itself. Permanent flameretardant fabrics are suitable for occasions that require longterm, stable fire protection and require frequent cleaning, such as flame retardant clothing, fireresistant curtains, etc.
